Ginger Lemonade

I love ginger. In food, in tea or candied ginger.
So why not make a ginger lemonade.
Its again a concentrate and i mix it 1:6. But it depends on how sweet you like it.

It was just a try, didn't use any recipe, but it turned out very good. Exactly what I wanted.
I think it tastes somehow like Ginger Ale.

Ginger Lemonade

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
ginger root (I guess it was about 50 g)
zests of one lemon

Instructions:

Peel the ginger and slice it. Cook the ginger with 1 slice of a lemon in 1 cup water for about 30 minutes or even longer. The ginger water should really taste very gingery (is that even a word).
After that is done, cook the sugar with the ginger water and 1 more cup water for about 5 minutes. The sugar water should be clear. I put some ginger pieces in the sugar water during cooking.
Put aside and stir the zests, lemon juice and the remaining water ( 1 1/2 cups) in.
Pour the lemonade concentrate trough a sieve in clean bottles.

Serve it ice cold with a lemon slice.
